Royal Teenhood.
The Teenage Textbook is by far the most accomplished Singaporean production I've set eyes on.
And the marvel of it all? It's a 7 year old movie, based on a book I remembered reading when I was
WAY before a teenager. The script is, although based hugely on the book, sophisticatedly hilarious at times... and enlightening at others. The acting was a tad shaky... given the newbie cast at that time. Nevertheless, the point of "being a teenager was never easy" was brought home very well.. From the self-deluded fat/rich boy who thinks girls worship him... to the couple who assumed either had no interest in the other til the end of the movie. In short,
EVERY Singaporean pre-teen/teen/past-teen/adult/old folkie should rent the movie now.
