Royal Wales.I'm back from Wales!Yes yes, I dint die in a foreign land, leaving behind a wife and two children. Although that sounds rather romantic aint it? Haha, well, yesh, back from Wales with my health and all. I broke my specs a night before leaving Wales though, bloody hell, couldnt see anything for 12 hours.. the horror.
Stayed in a cottage on farmland in Wales. Imagine sheep in your backyard and mountains in view. I must admit, the cottage was rather creepy. 350 years old and retaining much of its original state. Reputedly a stable for horses, it was converted into holiday cottages some time back. My mum had nightmares in the middle of the night, waking me up with rather freaky "sleep speak". The next morning, my aunty was sharing about her dream, about this girl in Victorian dressing, knocking on the door, trying to get in. Scarey aint it?... I had no trouble sleeping except my mum. Sheesh.
We visited a place called Swallow Falls, just a few miles off Betsw-y-Coed. Welsh counties have such hard to pronounce names. Anyway, Swallow Falls, as its name suggests, is a waterfall. Several parts of the fall mve so fast it becomes curtains of white matter, swishing about. I managed to get a photo of a rainbow that appeared at the end of the falls. Amazing what a 2.0 megapixel digi cam can do eh?...
The next day, we went on the railway up to Snowdonnia. SNOWDONNIA, haha, doesnt it sound like a nation of snow that would be featured in some fantasy novel or sorts? Anyways, the snow on Snowdonnia prevented us to reach the submit. The railway would only bring passengers up halfway, no where near the SNOW! Crap don't you think!? And I was all hyped on building my snow man.
After Snowdonnia, we moved along the coast toCaernarfon Castle. Much of it is intact now. A lot of history lies in the castle. I enjoyed the fact that Prince Charles was investitured there as Prince of Wales. Haha, somehow, I don't like being refered to Prince Charles though, something in me deeply disapproved of the death of Lady Diana. But politics apart, I wish Charles and Camillia the best in their new-found joy. Unlike Prince Charles, Charles K. would probably be loving "Diana" for a long time to come.
Wales was too short a trip methinks, but I miss the internet too much to stay there for another day! I'll post up pics of the trip to Wales tommorrow morning, now's 10pm here, just got home from the pub, watched a boring match of Arsenal vs Chelsea.
Well, everyone back in Singapore, I wish you all. YAKIDA! which means, "good health" in Welsh! =))
